Titus County Movie Theaters
Robert & Mary Turner's A Glimpse of Titus County, Texas History
In the news media topic, we cover the development of Titus County's newspapers, radio stations, and movie theatres.  You may ask "Why movie theatres?"  Our reason for including them in the media section is that before there was radio and television, people obtained much of their news by watching "news shorts" which were run between the main features at movie theatres.

In addition to feature movies and newsreels, local theatres also ran educational movies from time to time.  They were important in providing information to local farmers when Titus County as trying to organize its dairying industry and also ran special features dealing with game and wildlife conservation and management to help get those projects off to a good start.
